Digital Illustration and Page Layout is where students are introduced to the basics of visual communication. An overview of typography, the Design Elements and Principles, and the grid are all addressed. This course also provides an introduction to the computer as a tool for art and design with an emphasis on drawing/illustration skills and page composition integrating text and image. Two software programs from Adobe Creative Cloud—Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign—are utilized. The course ends with an opportunity for oral presentation.
