The Written Texts Series presently contains three artworks created over a period of time. The series is being expanded and is ongoing.

The artworks are small in scale roughly 5 x 7 inches. I felt the desire to work small and integrate text, mixed media, images and three dimensional objects I find in the physical environment. The text comes from text messages and words/phrases I write. I love integrating type and image because of the different ways we process the information.

I am currently exploring collage and mixed media outside the digital environment. Integrating artifacts has become important to me. Over the past few years, I have had to “clean out” many family homes. This placed me directly in the center of making decisions about what to keep and what to let go. Analyzing artifacts is challenging.

In this series, bringing artifacts forward to mix with scans and text places everything in a new context—telling new stories. Currently, I am trying to find a happy medium between the physical and the virtual environs.
